Promise of a new tomorrow.

Nationalists have overthrown the most corrupt and non-existent government that presided over a decade of decay in India.

This election has changed the language of Indian politics.

Sample the winners:

Congress will definitely need to compete with BJP on a development agenda. The decimated grand old party will definitely have to reinvent itself and has only one way to go, and that is Northwards!

Jaya and Naveen have always been associated with responsible governance. TN and Odisha have benefitted under their stable administration, and this can only be reinforced after this elections.

Mamta faces BJP as main opposition in WB, and will need to prepare her rack record statement or wither away like Left.

Even small parties like PDP in Kashmir are a sincere alternative than the corrupt and contrived Abdullah leadership.

Parties which made social justice and secularism and socialism/ Samajwad as hollow slogans will need to make themselves relevant for the changed electorate.

I doubt any thinking Indian has a problem with the principle of equality. Just that the mechanisms to bring about this equality has to be anchored in futuristic and optimistic solutions of all round development than the tired old sloganeering and fear mongering.
